Dakrya is a Greek word written with Latin characters and means "tears". Dakrya's sound is based on atmospheric music influenced from Neoclassical, Gothic and Black metal. Every song is another chapter and expresses different feelings and thoughts.http://www.myspace.com/dakryahttp://www.279productions.com/Dakrya was formed in July 2004 by Sophia X. (Keys & Piano). At first it was tempting to be something more like an acoustic project with female vocals. The first form of Dakrya's line-up was completed by May 2005 and the band enters the studios in June to record a demo CD including 3 songs. After the end of the recording sessions the band splits up and the demo CD entitled "Opus I" was never released.In September 2005 Dakrya found a new guitar player George D. and while seeking for female vocalists, they recorded and released a CD Single entitled "Without Destination" with guest female vocals by Margina. The reviews where good and by the end of the year Dakrya finally discovered the right female vocalists Christina and Thomais!In the year 2006 Dakrya released 2 demo songs "Beautiful Death" and "Wingless Souls". In May 2006 the band enters the studios to record its debut album entitled "Monumento". Many unexpected delays occurred and the album was finally finished in September 2007, with Dagwn (from Nethescerial) participating as a guest singer and Thomas K. performing all the declamations on the album. In January 2008 Stauros V. joins the band to replace Charis K. behind the drum set and also George D. takes over the task of brutal vocals.
