Eclipse is a game made by college students at Southern Methodist University, who were taking a video game development course. For being made by students for a class, it's a pretty cool and really original game.It's actually a mod, not a full game. That is to say, it's a modified version of Half-Life 2. You need Half-Life 2 in order to play this (PC version, of course), but you can download Eclipse at http://www.eclipsegame.com/The game involves fighting enemies indirectly. You pick things up psychically and throw them. You can pick up several things at once, including dead enemies. You can also psychically pick up life refills and throw them at yourself, or you can kill yourself by psychically throwing things in the opposite direction when standing behind them (I've done it by accident before).The theme is basically a fantasy realm. Kinda reminds me of the movie Voyage of the Unicorn, and the fairy fight reminded me of the Spiderwick books.The whole game is played using this psychokinesis element, which might be part of why it's so short. The play mechanic is neat, but it's hard to get a full game out of it without it growing old fast. But at the same time, the game was made by like 10 college students over the course of 4 months, so I'd have to say that considering the gameplay, graphics, music and level design, overall it's pretty good.
