PV for Eastern Youth's 踵鳴る (Footfalls) with my English translation in subtitles. I hope you enjoy.Given the incredible lyrical and emotional depth of this song and my relative inexperience with the Japanese language, this was a daunting project to undertake. I could not have done this without the help of two awesome people. I primarily collaborated with a Japanese Eastern Youth fan I met here on YouTube (softark) whose native knowledge of Japanese and his impressive grasp of English allowed us to work out a solid translation that retains most of the original feeling of the song yet still reads fluidly for native English speakers.I am also indebted to one of my Japanese teachers at the University of Iowa, Shima-sensei, who took extra time outside of class to provide very helpful feedback and advice on this project.I don't think there are many areas of this translation which could be questioned, with the exception of the incredibly difficult to translate "それを誰一人尋ねども血巡り季巡り撃ち放つさ", but if you see any upsetting flaws, please notify me. This band and song deserve only the best translations for their fantastic work.
